Road, Sandbach CW11 3NS Sandbach School, which caters for the secondary education of boys, was founded as the town’s Grammar school in 1677. It still retains its status as an Independent School although all the places in the school are retained by the Cheshire County Council for boys over the age of 11 years. The original school building was designed in the Gothic style by Sir George Gilbert Scott. The school has expanded and is beautifully sited being surrounded by playing fields. It is a successful school with an international reputation for drama. Facilities include a swimming pool, gymnasium, a music centre, a design and technology centre and a sixth form accommodation block. A recent addition has been a floodlit all-weather pitch. Next |
